There was a time when political parties set aside their differences to come together to show solidarity against aggression or celebrate accomplishments in war and killing of a terrorist. Not so long ago, Republicans congratulated President Obama for the killing of Osama bin Laden, the terrorist leader of al-Queda. However, when President Trump ordered the attack on Iranian General Qasem Soleimani, a terrorist who is known to have killed over 600 Americans, coordinated the attack on the American Embassy in Baghdad, and had plotted more attacks on American interests according to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, there was no celebration or congratulations. Instead, Democrats and liberal media, blinded by their own hatred of President Trump, ignored the accomplishment and apologized to Iran. The media painted Soleimani as a scholarly grandfather waiting at the airport to return home to watch his grandchildren play soccer. Media outlets went as far to call Soleimani as “revered” and “inspirational”. Playing on fear, President Trump was accused of starting World War III, forgetting that the Democratic front-runner, Joe Biden stated in 1996 it would be an act of war if Iran attacked a USA facility. Democrats called the attack illegal, forgetting that Obama had ordered 542 drone strikes without congressional approval that killed 3,797 people, including 324 civilians.
Now if President Obama had ordered the same attack, every Democrat would have been hailing this as a bold and brave act of strategic brilliance to remove such a threat to America; but because it was President Trump, Democrats and Leftists have accused him of an assassination while our own military has been called “terrorists”.
Congressional Democrats complained they were not warned. However, it is concerning whose side these Democrats are really on. Rashida Tlaib, a Democrat congresswoman tweeted, “Americans have spent decades raping and pillaging my people.” “What goes around comes around”.
Ilhan Omar, another congressional Democrat, suggested to Iran in a tweet they could target Trump Hotels. Is inviting Iran to strike an American business, which would kill Americans an act of treason?
After President Trump warned Iran of any retaliation against American interests, Democrat Nancy Pelosi implied to introduce a resolution for pre-emptive surrender to Iran, suggesting the attack was illegal under international law and could constitute a war crime against President Trump. Harvard Law School professor Alan Dershowitz, a Democrat who voted for Hillary Clinton, shot back that the strike was not only lawful; but an easy call for the president stating,
“The President has the constitutional authority to take military action, short of declaring war, that he and his advisers deem necessary to protect American citizens.”
Iran has been at war against America since 1979 when they held 52 Americans hostage for 444 days until President Ronald Reagan was elected. They have attacked American interests and are the number one sponsor of terrorist networks worldwide, including Hezbollah, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad and has vowed to wipe Israel off the map through their nuclear weapons program. Iran continued to try to provoke America and vowed “Death to America” long before President Trump took action.
When Democrats are outraged over the killing of a terrorist, who killed over 600 Americans, you know the enemy is within our own borders.
